End Of You: Unreal
13/03/06 || Lord K Philipson
I have heard some of this band when I’ve been in Finland, visiting my close friend and webmaster Statik Majik. Mainman Jami ended up mastering the “Killing Hellsinki” album that we did with The Project Hate, all thanx to Statik, and me and Jami became friends as well. But I won’t let that stand in the way when it comes to me reviewing End Of You’s debut album, to be released in a few weeks or so.
I hear some parts of the Finnish fags, HIM, in End Of You, with the difference being EOY are a hella lot more interesting than their colleagues. I also spot some Muse in what they do, and fuck knows I love some stuff from Muse. With these 2 bands in mind you might get a picture of the sound, but make no mistake – there’s more than that to EOY’s shit. This material got all the potential in the world to end up being the next hot thing from Finland, which is definitely needed since that country took a shit on the rest of the world with bands like Stratovarius and the latest excrement, “Once”, from Nightpenis (you know I can’t help myself some times, forgive me).
EOY hands out some really catchy and moody shit over the 10 songs included. While at times raising the cheese-factor to abnormal heights, it so fucken works. Alot of this is thanx to Jami’s excellent vocals. This fucko’s got some nice pipes to say the least. They are emotional yet strong. Usually one of those 2 is lacking when it comes to vocals, but not in this case. I really dig this guy’s voice, which prolly makes me very, very, gay. Fuck my ass.
If you want some groovy shit, put on “Rome” and if that beginning of the song doesn’t move yer cock in the weirdest directions, you are a chick. “Liar” furthermore displays neat fucken craftsmanship with a nice-as-fuck verse that reminds me of something I can’t fucken put my finger in (eh… I mean “on”), but fucken awesome it is. “Twisted mind” includes some chick singing, and it’s a very nice contrast to Jami’s voice. I could go on like this, talking about each and every track, but I don’t need to. Bottomline is: there are no weak tracks on this album.
Do not seek this up if yer fave bands ranges from Cannibal Corpse to Cryptopsy, this is not for you. You are too fucken stupid to acknowledge this anyways, so stay away. Stay right the fuck away. But if you take liking in semi-gay bands such as HIM (ok, they are full-on flaming homosexuals) and Muse (quite semi-gay), this is right up yer ass. I’ll take End Of You over HIM anygay (yes, that was intentional), simply becoz they offer so much more than their countrymen. And I completely fucken hate Ville Valo. That helps.
There’s not much to add to this except that the production is absolutely top-notch. Nothing gay about that at all. Eyeliner on guys is gay though. Gay, gay, gay, gay. Gay Ritchie. Lionel Ritchie. Ritchie Sambora. All gay. Very, very gay. But nonetheless:
I’m off to smoke crack, but I wouldn’t leave you guys without a rating:
7 Ville Valo’s sucking cocks out of 10.
Oh, and Jami’s girlfriend is fucken hot. She gets a 9.
